Nevada DMV Announces Grand Opening of the New Silverado Facility

CARSON CITY – The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced today that its new Silverado facility will officially open to the public on Monday, October 26, 2026.

“After years of planning and preparation, we are at the finish line of opening our new building and I couldn’t be more excited,” said DMV Director Tonya Laney. “Our main goal as an agency is to provide the best customer service possible, and this new facility will help us do just that.”

The new Silverado facility was built to better serve Southern Nevada’s growing population and replace the existing Henderson DMV office, which is 18,540 square feet and built in 1997.

The new facility, which houses both the DMV’s main office and Commercial Driver License (CDL) operations, totals 72,619 square feet.

The main DMV building features:

  • 60 customer service counters
  • Two drive-through kiosks
  • Four walk-up exterior kiosks available for after-hours service
  • 301 customer parking spaces

The CDL building features:

  • 15 customer service counters
  • Five Motor Carrier Division counters
  • A full-size CDL testing course
  • 42 customer parking spaces
  • 16 parking spaces for semi-trucks

“The Silverado building will be the largest DMV facility in Nevada,” said Laney. “We wanted to prioritize our customers throughout the design of this facility. The new office is equipped with ADA enhancements and more space to provide better service, while creating a more modern and welcoming experience for everyone who visits the DMV.”
